Hi! We’re Vilppu & Ryan. We launched our woodworking business, Treetotable.co, together in 2021. Sharing meals and sitting around the table with family & friends changed our lives, and we wanted to invite others experience that. 200+ custom tables later, it’s time to take that mission a step further: Let’s not just gather for meals, let’s gather for sauna. From growing up in Finland and sauna-ing weekly for years, we’re convinced that whatever your life/health/fitness goals are, sauna is going to help you achieve them!

FAQs

We build real Finnish saunas: Both indoor and outdoor saunas as well as wood-fired and electric options. Meaning if you want a sauna installed in your basement, we can help you with that. Or if you’d like a traditional outdoor cottage sauna, we can do that as well.

Great question. Infrared saunas are like airplane food, kit & barrel saunas are like cafeteria food, but real Finnish saunas are like a great steak dinner. Here’s why:
People get infrared (IR) saunas because they’re inexpensive, and take very little space. They sit in them for purely the health benefits. It’s better than nothing, but it’s not a real sauna.
Barrel saunas & kit saunas are step closer, because you can actually sauna together and throw water on the rocks. But there are no barrel saunas in Finland because they’re cheaply built, drafty, uncomfortable, don’t hold heat well, and can’t endure the weather. It’s really just not the same experience.
If you’ve tried an IR sauna or a barrel sauna, you’re going to LOVE the real Finnish sauna experience.

As long as your home. Seriously. Many of the saunas we grew up in were over 50 years old, built by grandparents in their youth. When you build it right, it lasts forever.
-
Yes! The only thing better than sauna, is sauna with a cold plunge. It doubles the benefits and the enjoyment!
-
Great question! The price depends on the type of sauna, as well as the size. We offer lots of custom options to work with almost any budget. In general, most outdoor saunas range between $10-30K

We’re located just north of Cincinnati. Most of our projects are within the Tristate area (Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky), but we’re able to deliver our cottage saunas as far as 5 hours away. If you’re not sure whether you’re in our area, just ask!
-
If you’d like to join us for a sauna night, reach out! This is not an open invite, but we’d love for you to experience a real Finnish sauna before committing to buying one :)

Yep! These three words will turn heads at any sauna session:
- Kiuas (pronounced ˈkiu̯.ɑs) - Sauna stove, covered in rocks. Traditionally wood-fired, but nowadays also commonly electric. Produces löylywhen water is thrown on it.
- Löyly (pronounced ‘løy̯ly) - Steam created by throwing water on the rocks of the kiuas. “Lisää löylyä!” = Throw more water on the rocks / Turn up the heat.
- Vihta(pronounced ˈʋihtɑ) - Bath broom / sauna whisk made from fresh birch branches tied together. Seared on the kiuasfor a pleasant aroma andused to whack each other on the back and the legs to relax muscles, stimulate circulation, and create airflow, intensifying the effects of the sauna.
